Calculate your adult BMI using your height and weight. Your result is a starting point for understanding weight, not a medical assessment.

Calculate your BMI

Body mass index (BMI) compares your weight with your height. It can be a useful starting point, but it does not describe your health on its own.

How to interpret BMI

  • Below 18.5: underweight
  • 18.5 to under 25: healthy weight range
  • 25 to under 30: overweight
  • 30 or above: obesity

BMI does not distinguish muscle from body fat and may be less useful in some circumstances. This calculator uses adult categories and is not intended for children, teenagers or use during pregnancy. A healthcare professional can consider BMI alongside your health history and other measurements.
